Ukraine Mission

I know it has been a long while since I posted.  Life has a way of getting busy and we as people seem to let things slide.  Today I have something I want to talk about.  Something important.

We all know that there is a war going on in Ukraine.   Innocent people have had their lives turned upside down.  Some people have left the warm comfort of their homes to help with humanitarian relief.  My husband is one of them.  He has left the safety and comfort of his home to help those in need.

He is helping coordinate aid to those who need it, helping to set up homes for those without.

It looks like this could turn into a long-term mission for my husband and me.  Please continue to pray for the people ofthe Ukraine, it's going to be a long recovery for these people who have lost everything.

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

I

In this world, we are bombarded by the things that Satan wants us to believe; we need to look a certain way, act a certain way, dress a certain way, eat certain foods.
Sometimes we are even told how to live our lives. But, here it comes the big but, this is the way the world thinks and acts but does the world really know what their purpose is?  The answer is no, because they are always searching for something, and don't realize that what they are searching for is truth.  They are searching for God and the joy He brings into our lives, but instead, they keep buying things, living the way they are told to live, and just keep on searching.   How many of us as Christians feel lost and empty sometimes.  We as women can be overwhelmed by all the media and forget that as it says in Psalms 139:14 that we are wonderfully made by God.  We should not worry about how the world perceives our lives, the way we dress, which should be modest.  We must learn to love ourselves the way God loves us, to accept who we are, and not try to change our ways to the ways of the world.  Remember Romans 12:1-2?  We are not to conform to the world, but to live apart from all the sin.  The most important point I want to make is that we need to be content with ourselves, who we are, and what we look like.  God made us the way we are for a reason.  God never makes a mistake, so He did not make a mistake when He created you or me.  Many of us deal with the inferiority complex.  We feel we are not good enough, or pretty, or look good.  This is Satan talking, it's definitely not from God.  So please remember that we are all fearfully and wonderfully made. There is no need to compare ourselves to others, but to be comfortable with who we are.

 Psalm 139: 114

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.

Let Your Light Shine

I

changed the name of my blog for a variety of reasons. First of all, there are quite a few blogs out there written by the pastor's wives.  I wanted something different, a place where I could come and write down my thoughts about God and His word.  I want to be a shining light in this world filled with darkness.  Matthew 5:16.

I am going to try to be more diligent in posting.  My life has been busy helping my husband at the church and writing Bible studies for our women's Bible study that meets every Tuesday.  For those of you who follow this blog, I am currently working on a study in Philippians.  If anyone is interested I may start posting my lessons here.

Right now my heart is sad for what is going on in our nation.  There is so much division and hate.  We must band together and show our light in this world.  How do we do that?  We show the love of Christ to others.  Don't get caught up in the politics of the world.  Remember who God is and that He always has a plan.  Let God take care of it, and PRAY!  Pray for this nation.

On the Road Again

It has been a journey and a year of healing.  I am thankful that I am here and able to type this short post.
God has been so good to us, and now here I am a pastor's wife once again.  After a full year of recovery  and therapy (including courses at Bible College), we are now in a church pastoring once again.

I hope to find new topics to post here, relating to ministry life and the joy it brings.

Why It's Been So long

She wasn't supposed to wake up ever again, BUT GOD had other plans! My mom went into surgery yesterday and it was supposed to be a 5-6 hour surgery and it ended up being 8 hours. The doctors did everything they could but in the end they said she woild only last three days. The mess in her brain was a lot the swelling was completely filling her skull (sparing some yucky details). She was on the ventilator in the ICU and during the course of the night (early morning) she began to move! The doctors and nurses and Dad gathered around her bed and started asking her questions, she answered them all correctly! Pretty soon she asked for Dads hand and she spelled the letters D-R-Y and pointed to the tube in her throat. She was thirsty. Later on today they took the tube out. She is talking! She wasn't supposed to be able to see but she can! Her personality is still the same! She still remembers everything! She can hear and carry on conversations!
God is so good! He worked a miracle.
The doctors said there was no way she was going to make it. She is even still steadily improving! She cannot move her left side very much and her peripheral view on the left side is gone. But she is still herself.
She had a 2"x2" section of her skull removed above her ear on the right side to clean out the infections (there were two which is very unusual). No cancer though!
I asked her if I could take her picture to share to show everyone how well she is looking and she said yes and tell them about my smurf hat and my lip! Her lip got bumped or cut or something during the surgery and it puffed up. So her is the picture she has such good color and rosy cheeks.
Thank you for praying! This is the results of your prayers! A miracle. God gave is a miracle!
She asked me to ask for continued prayer as she re-learns how to use her left side and walk. There is still a long way to go but praise God she came through it! And She is eating very well!
This is the power of God the Great Physician and the POWER of PRAYER!
Thank you so much for praying! Please continue!

These are the words of my daughter as I went into surgery for a brain infection.  This has taught me that God is in control over everything.  I am doing much better, but still have a long way to go for recovery.  I thank God that I am still here to write and continue to spread His word.

I know it's been quite some time, but God is working His miracles again in our lives.  In the next few months we will be once again transitioning our ministry.

It's going to be unique and fun so please stay tuned for what is coming.

He Did You a Favor

Some guy has taken a giant sledgehammer to your heart and you have to
clean up the mess. You hurt, big-time. You feel alone, scraping for answers
in the bottom of your third tub of "Chocolate Therapy" ice cream. You think

you'll never find anyone as good as he was, e-ver.

But what if... he did you a favor?

He Did You a Favor is an empowering, humorous, hands-on guide
with straight talk and advice to help you break away from Mr. So Very Wrong
and break through to the life you desire.

This book is written to help women, ladies to realize that they are special and are worthy.   It’s to help them learn how to deal with break ups, whether it’s a divorce, separation or ending a relationship.
Ms. Rogers brings women from the point of where they feel like “rubbish” or unwanted to the potential that God wants of them.
I do appreciate that this is written from Ms. Rogers own experience, and that gains the readers trust and gives them the feeling that they aren’t alone in this situation.
I like the tips that are given in this book, and the one quote” So, what if the guy who dumped you did you a huge favor? That, in fact he helped you (even if it wasn’t intentional) because your relationship with him was complete and it was time to move on to someone better?”  Great thought, and very true, you don’t want to get stuck with someone who will in the long run bring you down in life.
If you or know of anyone going through a breakup this is an excellent book to help you through it.  It is full of many “helps” and good pointers.

I  received this book free from the publisher . I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
